How long have you been a practicing esthetician?
I’ve been a practicing esthetician in the state of Kentucky for 9 years.
And, what inspired you to become an esthetician?
I was inspired due to the neighborhood in which I grew up. We were not rich and we were not surrounded by people that went to the spa. All I knew was to make sure that my hair and my nails were done, let alone my skin.
Where are you based?
Southwestern side of Louisville, Kentucky.
What’s the name of your business? Do you work alone?
Exquisite Lengths Beauty and Brow Bar. There is a total of 10 service providers, including myself.
What sets you apart from other estheticians?
I believe what sets me apart from other estheticians is that I actually take the time to educate every single last one of my clients that I come in contact with.
What is your specialty?
My specialty is performing the Brazilian wax. Every single week, on average, I wax more than 70-80 men and women.
What advice or suggestions would you give to a first-time client who has never had a professional beauty service?
My advice to a first-time client would be to ask questions. And, if you are unable to reach that professional, Google them.
What industry trends do you think will make the biggest impact this year?
In this industry, I do believe dermaplaning will make the biggest impact.
What industry trends do you think should fade away?
I think bleaching should fade away.
What’s your skincare regimen?
My skin care regimen is as follows: cleanse my face twice a day, moisturize my face twice a day, place sunscreen on my face once a day, and use an exfoliator every other day. And, as a tip: don’t forget to exfoliate your lips.
When it’s time to get a facial, who gives you yours?
When it’s time to get a facial I perform my own.
For people living in the Louisville, KY area, what advice would you give to them for protecting their skin from the local environment?
My advice for Louisville residents is to ALWAYS wear moisturizer and sunscreen. Even in the winter, there’s still some kind of sunshine.
What is your proudest accomplishment in the esthetics industry?
My two proudest accomplishments in this industry are being nominated for the 2019 Power to Exhale rising entrepreneur award and opening a 3000 square-foot day spa.
